June brought a new chat widget with a way for visitors to reach a human. It also brought the first public API and several new appearance options.

New

  • A new chat widget went live. It has a home screen, a list of the visitor’s conversations, and a button to start a new conversation.
  • Visitors can confirm their email with a one-time code to see their past conversations.
  • Ask visitors for their name, email, and phone number before they chat. You choose which fields to ask for. See Collect leads.
  • Visitors can ask to talk to a human. A follow-up prompt can open the escalation form, and you get an email for each escalated conversation. See Set up human support.
  • Follow-up prompts show after the chatbot’s answers. See Follow-up suggestions.
  • Starter questions can open a link instead of sending a message.
  • The first public API, with API docs. You can create chatbots, add links, change settings and appearance, manage prompts, read conversations, and send messages. See API v0 getting started.
  • Set a webhook for each conversation to get its new messages.
  • New appearance options: right-to-left mode, custom names for the bot and for agents, a chat text color, and a setting to hide the feedback buttons. See Change how the chat widget looks.
  • Delete a conversation from chat history.
  • The links page now splits long link lists into pages.
  • Cancel your subscription from the dashboard. See Manage billing.
  • Change the email address of your account. See Sign in and manage your profile.

Improved

  • The chat shows a typing indicator while the chatbot writes.
  • The chat icon now has text for screen readers.

Fixed

  • Fixed duplicate links when a sitemap lists the same page more than once.
