Plan comparison
The two message rows are not added together. They show the two ends of one shared allowance. You can use any mix in between. See How messages are counted.
Enterprise limits are set for each customer. Talk to us through sitegpt.ai/pricing.

Free trial
Self-serve plans start with a free trial. See sitegpt.ai/pricing for the trial terms. During the trial you get the full limits of the plan you chose. To end or extend a trial, see Manage your plan and billing.Older plans
If you are on an older SiteGPT plan, your limits can be different from this table. Your Usage page always shows your real limits. How pages are counted
A page is the unit for the content your chatbots learn from.- One page is 2,500 characters of text.
- Pages are counted per document and rounded up. A 5,000-character document is 2 pages. A 5,001-character document is 3 pages.
- Every file you upload counts as at least 1 page.
- All content types count the same way: website pages, files, text snippets, YouTube transcripts, and connected apps.
- Your pages are shared across all the chatbots you own.
- Custom responses also count. Each one is stored as a short text document.
- When you delete content, its pages become free again.
What happens at the page limit
- New content is blocked. When you add links or files, you cannot add more items than you have pages left. A website crawl reads no more URLs than you have pages left.
- Documents past the limit are not trained. Their status shows that the page limit was reached.
- One large document can go over the limit. The check uses your usage before the document is added.
- Resync does not use more pages. Resyncing content you already trained only updates it. Its page count changes if the document got longer or shorter.
How messages are counted
- Your message allowance is monthly. It is shared across all the chatbots you own.
- Both sides of a conversation count. A visitor’s message is 1 message, and the chatbot’s reply is 1 message. So one question and its answer use 2 messages.
- Usage resets on the 1st of each calendar month (UTC). The reset is not tied to your billing date.
- Unused messages do not carry over to the next month.
- Your chatbot can answer with GPT-4.1 mini or GPT-4.1. One GPT-4.1 message uses as much of your allowance as 10 GPT-4.1 mini messages. See Choose a model.
- You set how your allowance is split between the two models on the Usage page or the Billing page.
What happens when messages run out
- The chatbot switches models. When the share for one model is used up, the chatbot answers with the other model while that model has messages left. This applies on your website, in your integrations, and through the API.
- Your chatbots keep answering. When both shares are used up, your chatbots still answer visitors on your website, in your integrations, and through the API.
- The dashboard is covered. When both shares are used up, every chatbot page in the dashboard is blurred and a card appears. The card says Message Limit Reached! and “This chatbot has received too many messages.” It asks you to buy the Extra Messages add-on on the billing page.
- Buy more messages. Click Go to Billing on the card to open the Billing page. There you can buy the Extra Messages add-on. Each pack of the add-on gives 5,000 more messages every month.
