Team members can work on a chatbot with you. Each member has a role that controls what they can do.

Before you start

  • Plan: the number of team members depends on the chatbot owner’s plan. See Plans and limits.
  • Role: you need to be a Manager, Admin, or Super Admin on the chatbot to open Members.
  • Have ready: the email address of each person you want to invite.

Roles

The chatbot creator is the owner and is always a Super Admin. Each member you invite gets one role. Every role can use the SiteGPT iPhone app, and every role can do everything in the app, including deleting leads. Billing is not part of any role. Each person sees only their own plan and billing. See Manage your plan and billing.

How the member limit works

  • The limit comes from the plan of the person who owns the chatbot.
  • One person counts once, even if they are a member of several of your chatbots.
  • You count as one member.
  • Pending invites count toward the limit until you delete them or the person accepts.
When you reach the limit, the Members page shows an Upgrade banner and you cannot send more invites.

Invite a team member

1

Open Members

In the chatbot sidebar, under Advanced, select Members.
2

Enter the email address

Type the person’s email address in the field Enter an email address….
3

Choose a role

Open the role menu and select a role. The menu shows only the roles you are allowed to invite. The default is Agent.
4

Send the invite

Select Send Invite.
SiteGPT sends the person an email with a sign-in link. They select the link to join. They do not need a password. If they do not have a SiteGPT account yet, the link creates one.
The sign-in link in the invite email expires after 1 hour. The invite itself stays pending. Signing in without this link does not accept the invite. If the link expired, delete the pending invite and send a new one.

Check that it works

The invite shows under Pending Invitations with the role you chose. When the person accepts, they move to the members list.

Change a member’s role

You cannot change a role directly.
1

Remove the member

On the Members page, select Remove next to the member, and confirm.
2

Invite them again

Invite the same email address with the new role. See Invite a team member.

Check that it works

The invite shows under Pending Invitations with the new role. After the person accepts, the members list shows the new role.

Remove a team member

1

Open Members

In the chatbot sidebar, under Advanced, select Members.
2

Remove the member

Select Remove next to the member, and confirm.
You can remove members only if your role is allowed to manage their role. See the roles table. To cancel an invite that was not accepted, select Delete next to it under Pending Invitations.

Check that it works

The member is no longer in the list. They can no longer open the chatbot.

Leave a chatbot

To leave a chatbot that someone else owns, select Leave next to your own name on the Members page, and confirm. After you leave, you cannot open the chatbot unless someone invites you again. Agents cannot open the Members page. If you are an Agent, ask a Manager, Admin, or Super Admin of the chatbot to remove you. The owner cannot leave or be removed. To hand the chatbot to someone else, transfer it.
